Are you a seasoned Mobile Network Engineer looking to drive innovation in the IoT space? Our client—a UK-headquartered Mobile Network Operator with millions of active SIMs worldwide—is redefining how industries stay connected through intelligent, scalable mobile infrastructure.
As they scale operations, we're hiring two Senior Core Network Engineers to take ownership of the mobile core infrastructure, maintain service reliability, and contribute to new partner integrations as the network grows.
This is a remote contract opportunity with potential for long-term employment.
đź’Ľ Your Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and evolve mobile core components: HLR/HSS, STP/DRA, PGW, IMS
- Support switching, routing, server, and data center environments
- Proactively monitor system performance and resolve service-affecting issues
- Deliver projects to expand infrastructure, improve reliability, and onboard new connectivity partners
- Mentor junior engineers and promote a strong engineering culture
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to resolve complex network challenges
- Maintain network security, regulatory compliance, and thorough technical documentation
âś… What You Should Bring:
- Proven experience supporting mobile networks in production environments
- Strong grasp of telecom protocols: SS7, GTP, MAP, CAMEL, Diameter, VoLTE, SIP, AAA
- Expertise with network elements such as HLR/HSS, PGW/GGSN, STP/DRA, IMS, SMSC
- Knowledge of core networking protocols: IPv4, OSPF, BGP, MPLS
- Proficiency with tools and systems like Cisco, Fortinet, Nexus
- Experience with Linux (Ubuntu, HAProxy) and Microsoft server platforms (IIS, MS-SQL)
- Familiarity with monitoring and automation tools: Grafana, SNMP, Syslog; and scripting (Bash, Powershell)
- Bonus points for exposure to Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, or .NET/C#
- Excellent communicator with sharp troubleshooting skills
- Open to on-call participation for 24/7 support coverage
