Senior SQL DBA - Fully Remote

Are you a seasoned SQL DBA with a passion for managing complex databases?

A leading Managed Service Provider (MSP), with a head office in York, is looking for a Senior SQL & Oracle DBA to join their fully remote team.

Role Overview:

• SQL Server Administration: Manage SQL Server databases, including patching, upgrades, and performance tuning.
• Oracle Support: Provide mid-level support for Oracle environments, handling backups, monitoring, and tuning.
• Database Security: Implement security protocols and ensure compliance in both SQL Server and Oracle databases.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor and resolve database issues using tools like SSMS and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
• Disaster Recovery: Design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery strategies for SQL Server.

Ideal Candidate:

• SQL Server Expertise: Extensive experience with SQL Server (2012-2019+), HA solutions, and performance tuning.
• Oracle Skills: Solid experience in Oracle Database administration, including RMAN and performance tuning.
• Automation & Scripting: Advanced skills in automating SQL tasks; familiarity with Oracle PL/SQL and UNIX scripting.
• Problem-Solving & Communication: Strong analytical skills for complex issues and effective communication for team collaboration.
• Cloud Experience: Familiarity with cloud-based database services like Azure SQL.
