Senior Fullstack Engineer, RoR/Vue, full remote, up to 15M JPY/annum, some Japanese required in JAPAN

Our client, a technology company in the financial services space, is looking for a senior fullstack engineer to join their team. In this position, you will be the first engineer in Japan, working closely with their overseas offices. This is a technology-driven company that allows its employees to work in a full-remote environment. The salary is up to 15M JPY per annum.

This company has offices in Japan, US, and Europe. The Japanese headquarters has about twenty full-time members who are mostly Japanese. You will use English daily to interact with engineer members from other offices and Japanese in the job to occasionally speak with local customers and engineers to align product requirements. As the first engineer in Japan, you'd be expected to be independent and self-motivated. The position is indeed full remote from within Japan but occasional office visits for company culture purposes or occasional tagging along to business meetings may be required.

Ideal Candidate:

• Japanese & English ability at least at a business level
• 5+ years as a fullstack engineer
• Strong Ruby on Rails experience is ideal, though if there are expertise is similar backend languages it may be considered
• Strong VueJS experience is ideal though if there are expertise is similar javascript frameworks that would be considered
• High sense of independence - proven self-starter
• Located within Japan and/or valid working visa
