Location: 100% Remote (within Europe)

Contract Type: Freelance / B2B


A major European agency based in Amsterdam is seeking an experienced IT Cloud Architect to support strategic platform development, enhance deployment strategies, and provide expert technical consultation across cloud and low-code environments.


About the Role:


As an IT Cloud Architect, you will play a critical role in shaping and optimising the organisation’s deployment architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and security. This role involves working with multiple vendors and cross-functional teams to define and implement strategic technical solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

• Support architecture and platform design across multiple domains and vendors

• Lead the development and implementation of a generic, robust, and secure deployment strategy

• Troubleshoot and resolve critical incidents caused by the current deployment process

• Analyse existing infrastructure and propose improvements to cloud architecture and CI/CD pipelines

• Consult on the use and best practices of Microsoft technologies, including Power Platform and Azure

• Design improved data structures for the exchange of medicinal information (e.g., FHIR standards)

• Drive knowledge transfer and training sessions for internal and external stakeholders

• Provide detailed documentation and ensure effective knowledge sharing across teams


Your Profile:


• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field

• Minimum 4 years of experience in IT architecture and cloud-based systems

• Proven expertise in Microsoft technologies (Azure, Power Platform); certifications and awards (e.g., MVP) are a plus

• Strong knowledge of CI/CD processes and tools (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps)

• Experience with Agile and SAFe methodologies

• Understanding of low-code platforms and scalable cloud solutions

• Background in medical or public health data exchange standards is highly desirable

• Skilled in troubleshooting complex deployment issues and ensuring business continuity

• Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills


Desirable Skills:


• Experience working within EU institutions or public sector environments

• Familiarity with ITSM, risk management frameworks, and international IT standards

• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary technical teams

• Fluent in English; additional EU languages are an asset
