Android Software Engineer (100% remote) in UKRAINE

Role Overview

Hyfe has commenced an exciting multi-year partnership to develop and commercialize the world’s first digital therapeutic (DTx) for chronic cough. We are seeking a motivated Android developer to join a talented team building this innovative and impactful app.

This role will suit a skilled Android developer with a strong foundation in mobile architecture and a passion for delivering high-quality apps.

As an Android Developer at Hyfe, you will:

• Build new features and improve existing ones based on customer and end-user needs
• Define, prioritize, and estimate development efforts for tasks and projects
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and technical issues
• Identify areas for improvement in engineering processes and contribute to optimizing workflows

We´re looking for:

• 3+ years of Android development with a strong foundation in mobile architecture and a passion for delivering high-quality apps. 
• Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with Kotlin
• Practical experience implementing Clean Architecture and applying SOLID principles
• Strong understanding and use of MVVM or MVI patterns
• Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose. Experience with legacy UI (XML layouts and custom views) is a plus.
• Proficiency with Kotlin Coroutines, Flow, concurrency, and multithreading
• Solid experience with Dependency Injection and frameworks like Dagger2 and Hilt
• Experience handling background tasks and understanding how Android apps behave in the background
• Strong knowledge of SQL and Room, along with NoSQL databases like Firebase Firestore
• Familiarity with Firebase services such as Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Analytics, and Crashlytics, including integrating them into production apps
• Experience with Git and working with GitFlow branching strategy
• A flexible approach to development and a willingness to learn or improve existing solutions
• Experience with Android NDK and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) is considered an advantage
• Ability to communicate well in English, particularly in writing
