This is a fully remote opportunity for one of our esteemed clients. You should be able to relocate to Spain.


About the role

We are looking for a technically skilled, highly motivated, and proactive Backend Software Engineer to join our client's team dedicated to building and maintaining our cutting-edge Customer Data Platform (CDP). As a Backend Software Engineer, you will be crucial in designing, developing, deploying and optimizing the backend software infrastructure that powers our CDP, enabling seamless data processing and management.


Responsibilities

  • Building the core set of microservices and real-time data pipelines to ingest data from divisional source systems into a central location.
  • Creating and maintaining RESTful APIs for communication between the backend and other system components including 3rd party software.
  • Designing the technical implementation of the different micro-services powering the core of Customer Data platform, developing the code, testing, monitoring, and improving the CDP.
  • Contributing to the software architecture design of the CDP backend, ensuring it aligns with best practices and meets scalability requirements.
  • Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks in the backend system.
  • Staying updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and advancements in backend development.
  • Implementing security best practices to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data.


Must Have

  • Expert coding proficiency with Java, Springboot and Azure / Kubernetes
  • Experience building real-time data pipelines using technologies like Spark, Flink, Storm and messaging streaming services such as Kafka, Azure EventHub, RabbitMQ or Azure Service Bus.
  • Experience with distributed systems, including microservice architecture, SQL and no SQL data stores.
  • Strong understanding of database management systems, including relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
  • Proficient in using version control systems, such as Git, for collaborative development.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools for automated testing and deployment.


Nice to have

  • Experience building Customer Data platform or Customer MDM solutions
  • Experience with ETL processes for efficiently moving and transforming data from various sources to the CDP.
  • Understanding of data governance principles and the ability to implement data quality measures.
  • Development of data APIs enables seamless access to and retrieval of data from the CDP.


Location: You should be based in Spain. We are open to candidates who are interested in relocation.
