Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in distributed systems and scaling. This role is perfect for a self-motivated problem solver who thrives on complex technical challenges, communicates effectively, and possesses a builder's mindset.
You'll work on sophisticated distributed architectures where you'll need to carefully optimize for performance, security, resilience, and economic alignment.
What You'll Do
- Develop and scale blockchain infrastructure products focused on decentralized computing and execution
- Collaborate with top mechanism design researchers to build solutions at the intersection of incentives and distributed systems
- Maintain and enhance protocol services and developer tools within the ecosystem
- Create and manage technical documentation and diagrams for both public and internal use
- Engage actively with the community and partner with leading crypto projects
- Write well-tested, reliable code that operates in mission-critical environments
Who You Are
- Over 4 years of experience building production systems, with proficiency in Rust or Go
- Demonstrated experience in distributed systems architecture and implementation
- Proactive problem-solver who identifies and addresses issues before they escalate
- Strong open-source contributions to blockchain projects, particularly in the Ethereum ecosystem (Geth/Reth)
- Capable of independently leading projects and unifying cross-functional teams through exceptional communication
- Familiar with blockchain protocols and distributed system standards
- Flexible, accountable, and focused on delivering high-impact solutions
- Versatile engineer with specialized backend expertise while maintaining broad knowledge of adjacent technologies
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with blockchain clients and node infrastructure
- Familiarity with adjacent infrastructure components (e.g., indexers or p2p networks)
- Experience with smart contract languages and environments
- History of open-source contributions or participation in public technical discourse
- Background in protocol specification development
