This SQL DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR (SQL DBA) role offers 100% REMOTE WORK from anywhere withing SOUTH AFRICA, with a SALARY of R650K – R750K.

THE ROLE:
As a Junior-to-Intermediate SQL DBA, this role offers a unique opportunity to work on real-time financial trading applications and, with expert training to develop into a SQL specialist.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Administer, maintain, and optimise SQL databases for high-performance, real-time trading systems.
Develop, refine, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies.
Monitor and improve database performance, scalability, and security.
Collaborate with developers and analysts to design efficient data structures and ensure seamless integration with financial applications.
Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery best practices.
Gain hands-on experience with advanced SQL techniques and real-time data processing.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
1-4 years of experience in SQL database administration or SQL development.
Strong understanding of SQL Server (or other relational databases like PostgreSQL).
Experience in query optimisation, indexing, and performance tuning.
Some knowledge of ETL processes and real-time data streaming is a plus.
Interest in working on financial trading systems (prior experience is a bonus but not required).
Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
