Power BI Business Analyst (Insurance Industry)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI Business Analyst with strong experience in insurance data analytics. The ideal candidate will have expertise in data visualization, reporting, and business intelligence within the insurance sector. This is a 100% remote contractor role for 12 months, with the possibility of extension to 36 months. The candidate must be able to work Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours.

Key Responsibilities

·        Collaborate with insurance business stakeholders to gather and define reporting and data visualization requirements.

·        Design, develop, and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights.

·        Work with structured and unstructured insurance datasets, including policy, claims, underwriting, and actuarial data.

·        Ensure data accuracy and integrity by cleaning, transforming, and modeling insurance data.

·        Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within insurance operations.

·        Provide recommendations based on data-driven insights to improve business decisions.

·        Work closely with data engineers, actuaries, and underwriters to understand business needs and improve reporting capabilities.

·        Develop and maintain DAX queries, Power Query scripts, and data models for effective dashboard performance.

·        Ensure compliance with insurance industry standards, data privacy, and security regulations.

·        Support troubleshooting and resolve issues related to Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models.

Qualifications

·        Five or more years of experience as a Business Analyst working with Power BI.

·        Strong knowledge of the insurance industry, including claims, underwriting, actuarial, policy, and risk management data.

·        Proficiency in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and SQL.

·        Experience working with large datasets from insurance companies, brokers, or insurtech platforms.

·        Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance regulations in the insurance sector.

·        Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and create compelling data visualizations.

·        Experience working with ETL processes and data modeling

·        Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.

·        Strong communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

·        Ability to work independently in a 100% remote environment while covering Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours.

·        Strong English Communications Skills

 

Contract Details

Duration: 12-month contract, extendable 36+ months

Location: Fully remote, must cover Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours

Engagement Type: Contractor

Salary Range: $45,000 – $60,000 MXN NET Per month as a contractor (NO BENEFITS)
