The Opportunity
As a Senior Rust Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and implementing the core execution layer and consensus mechanisms of a Layer 2 blockchain protocol. Our client is focused on enhancing Ethereum scalability by developing a state-of-the-art rollup solution that combines EVM compatibility with advanced cryptographic security.

Key Responsibilities
πΉ Smart Contract & EVM Execution: Engineer and optimise Rust-based execution environments for high-speed, gas-efficient smart contract processing.
πΉ Consensus & Networking Protocols: Design and implement scalable, secure consensus mechanisms for high-throughput Layer 2 transactions.
πΉ State Management & Data Availability: Architect efficient state transition models and storage solutions to enhance blockchain scalability.
πΉ Zero-Knowledge & Cryptography: Contribute to the development of ZK-rollups, SNARK/STARK-based proofs, and privacy-preserving cryptographic protocols.
πΉ High-Performance Engineering: Optimise Rust code for sub-millisecond execution times, parallel processing, and secure memory handling.
What Weβre Looking For
β Advanced Rust Experience: 3+ years of experience writing production-level Rust applications, preferably in blockchain, cryptography, or distributed systems.
β Deep Blockchain & EVM Knowledge: Strong understanding of Ethereum, smart contract execution, and Layer 2 scaling solutions like rollups or state channels.
β Consensus & Distributed Systems Expertise: Experience with p2p networking, Byzantine fault tolerance (BFT) mechanisms, and consensus protocols such as PBFT, HotStuff, or Tendermint.
β Low-Level Performance Optimization: Background in systems programming, memory-safe concurrency, and gas-optimized computation.
β Autonomous & Research-Driven Mindset: Ability to work independently on complex problems and contribute to technical research discussions.
