Smart Contracts Engineer in AUSTRALIA

We’re looking for an experienced Smart Contracts Engineer with deep expertise in EVM-based development to join a cutting-edge, non-trivial but early stage DeFi project (over $150m TVL).

If you have a strong track record in Solidity, protocol design, and security best practices in best-practice environments this is an opportunity to work on complex, highly optimised smart contract systems in a fast-moving Web3 environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing, implementing, and optimizing smart contracts for a high-performance DeFi protocol.

• Writing gas-efficient, secure Solidity code and conducting rigorous testing/audits.

• Collaborating with backend engineers and other stakeholders to integrate smart contracts into a wider trading ecosystem.

• Enhancing security through attack vector analysis, formal verification, and up-to-date best practices.

• Engaging with governance mechanisms and smart contract upgradability frameworks.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in DeFi, developing and deploying smart contracts to EVM mainnets at scale, ensuring security, efficiency, and robustness in high-volume environments.• Proven experience developing and deploying production-grade smart contracts (Solidity, EVM).
• Strong understanding of DeFi primitives, including AMMs, liquidity mechanisms, and staking.
• Familiarity with security best practices and attack vectors (reentrancy, flash loans, MEV, etc.).
• Experience with Hardhat, Foundry, or similar development frameworks.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

Nice to Have

• Contributions to open-source DeFi projects.
• Experience on a perps platform
• Experience with on-chain data analytics and blockchain indexing.
• Knowledge of zk-proofs or modular blockchain infrastructure.
• Backend engineering skill (Distributed Systems, TypeScript, NodeJS)
