About the Role

As a backend Kotlin developer, you will build and expand APIs and services and work with our partners to launch new markets, products and capabilities. You’ll get to work with engineers to build delightful features that span various parts of the system, as well as our business, sales and operations teams to understand and solve our users' pain points.

We’re looking for someone with a strong background or interest in building successful systems and products. Someone that is comfortable in dealing with lots of moving pieces. Someone that has exquisite attention to detail and is comfortable learning new technologies and systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems
• Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
• Work with engineers across the company to build new features at large-scale
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
• Work with a wide range of systems, processes and technologies to own and solve problems from end-to-end
• Build new features for internal and external users

You might work on

• Build a new API for our users, or iterate on existing APIs
• Launch a new product or expand existing ones to new markets
• Build new tools for our teams
• Build new systems taking into consideration regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements
• Crafting and refining onboarding experiences to help users get to what they want faster

We’re looking for someone who

• Cares deeply about developing, releasing, and maintaining high quality applications
• Communicates effectively on both technical and non-technical subjects
• Is experienced in Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps)
• Has experience in writing tests and familiarity with testing frameworks
• Has proficient industry experience working with Kotlin or other JVM language

Nice to haves

• Experience in AWS, Azure, OCI, Heroku or similar technologies
• Prior experience working within a software consultancy, delivering best in class solutions for clients
