What is the job about?


Responsibilities will include conducting regular security assessments and penetration testing to identify and address vulnerabilities, implementing and maintaining robust security controls to protect our systems, and monitoring network traffic for potential threats or suspicious activities.


You will also play a key role in developing and enforcing security policies and procedures, working closely with development and DevOps teams to integrate security best practices into every stage of the software development lifecycle.


What exactly will you do?


  • Conduct security assessments and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities and improve systems.
  • Implement and manage security controls, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and Data Loss Prevention tools.
  • Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and promptly respond to security incidents.
  • Stay up to date with security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
  • Develop and enforce security policies and procedures for web applications and websites.
  • Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle.
  • Configure and manage security tools and technologies, such as vulnerability scanners, antivirus and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
  • Deliver security awareness training to IT and development teams, empowering them to adopt a security-first mindset and integrate best practices into their daily workflows.


What we're looking for


  • 1–3 years in a Security Engineer or similar role.
  • Solid understanding of security principles, including SANS Top 20.
  • Hands-on experience with security testing tools, such as Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, or Nessus.
  • Knowledge of network security principles such as TCP/IP, VPNs, and SSL/TLS.
  • Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and programming languages (e.g., Python).
  • Exposure to cloud and containerisation technologies.
  • Analytical mindset, methodical problem-solving, and a willingness to learn and innovate.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CEH, or OSCP are highly valued.
