The Bending Spoons Software Engineering Apprenticeship is a three-month program designed to foster gender inclusivity and provide support to those historically underrepresented in the tech industry. Its goal is to offer driven and passionate individuals the firsthand experience they need to boost their engineering career.
If you’re based in Europe, have a background in computer science, and are deeply committed to advancing in the field, this could be the exact opportunity you’ve been looking for.
After getting up to speed on the latest technologies, you’ll gain extensive hands-on experience working on real projects and learning from some of the brightest minds in the field. You’ll put your skills to the test, and find out what daily life is like at the forefront of the tech industry.
As part of the apprenticeship, you’ll also have the option to relocate to Milan—with the first three months of accommodation expenses covered. And, depending on your performance during the program, you may be considered for a job offer at Bending Spoons.
A few examples of your responsibilities
- Collaborate with our software engineers to expand our set of libraries and make our processes ever-more efficient.
- Learn about the latest and greatest technologies, testing the promising ones to make sure we don’t miss out on game-changing opportunities to boost our productivity and the enjoyment of our work.
- Contribute to product development and product roadmap planning, learning how to take a proactive role and ownership of the products you work on.
What we look for
- Logical-analytical abilities. You’re a quick learner who’s able to investigate and effectively pick up new concepts on your own. You can solve unforeseen challenges with creativity and structure, and can do so independently.
- Drive. You’re energetic and hard-working, and you persevere through adversity until the job is done—and done impeccably. You’re massively into getting results, and always aim for excellence in what you do.
- Curiosity and initiative. You love exploring, and are forever hunting down new opportunities and testing fresh ideas. Rather than waiting to be told what to do, you go seek.
- Indisputable excellence. Your academic or professional career is marked by a series of remarkable accomplishments. You have habitually achieved superior outcomes in your chosen fields and are continually seeking ways to outperform the expectations set for you.
- Passion. You have a genuine love for the field. You investigate the subject extensively and are always up to date with the latest developments.
- Willingness to learn. We use Python for backend, and Swift and Kotlin for mobile. But it's not a problem if you have little or no experience with them, as long as you’re enthusiastic about learning. We’d be happy to teach you!

It’s a steep learning curve—we bet you can’t imagine how much you’ll have learned a year from now.
- Competitive salary and stock options. Our compensation packages are designed to attract and retain the best talent in the industry.
