The Role

BWP is representing a leading international power producer and renewable energy developer.

We are seeking to cover an strategic role as Head of Engineering to lead and oversee engineering activities in the renewables sector, with a focus on large-scale solar and wind projects in the region.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage the engineering team, providing technical guidance and oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
2. Drive the development and execution of engineering strategies for renewable energy projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
3. Oversee the design, planning, and implementation of utility-scale solar and wind projects, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project development, finance, legal, and operations to ensure seamless project delivery.
5. Evaluate and optimize project designs, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
6. Manage relationships with engineering consultants, contractors, and technology providers, ensuring timely and quality deliverables.
7. Stay abreast of technological advancements and industry trends in renewable energy engineering, incorporating innovative solutions into project designs.
8. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and environmental standards throughout project development and execution.

Desired Skills and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy Engineering. Master's degree is a plus.
2. Proven track record of leading engineering teams in the renewable energy sector, with extensive experience in solar and/or wind project development.
3. Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, project design principles, and engineering principles.
4. Experience in managing large-scale utility projects from conception to commissioning, including feasibility studies, design optimization, and construction oversight.
5. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
6. Knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing renewable energy projects in the MENA region is desirable.
7. Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
