NOC Engineer:


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor Systems & Networks: Proactively monitor servers, networks, and other critical infrastructure for performance, availability, and security issues using specialized monitoring tools.
  • Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Quickly identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network and system issues, ensuring minimal downtime. Escalate issues to relevant teams when necessary.
  • Maintain SLAs: Ensure that service levels are maintained in terms of availability, performance, and reliability by adhering to established SLAs and operational procedures.
  • Communication & Reporting: Collaborate with internal teams and provide clear and concise updates during incidents, ensuring stakeholders are informed of progress and resolution times. Prepare incident reports and system performance summaries.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of network infrastructure, incidents, and issue resolution procedures. Contribute to knowledge base and create runbooks for commonly occurring issues.
  • Optimization & Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement within monitoring systems and processes. Collaborate with teams to enhance infrastructure reliability and performance.
  • Automation & Scripting: Utilize automation tools and scripts to streamline monitoring, incident detection, and troubleshooting processes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with DevOps, network, and security teams to ensure a seamless and secure IT environment.


Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in a NOC or similar technical support role.
  • Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.) and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience with monitoring and ticketing systems such as Nagios, Zabbix, Grafana, or similar.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to resolve issues under pressure.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Scripting knowledge (Bash, Python, or PowerShell) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to work in shifts.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) is a plus.
  • Certifications in network or cloud technologies (e.g., CCNA, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) would be an advantage.
