Security Operations Center Analyst in MALTA

Our client, a dynamic software development and digital solutions provider, is seeking a skilled Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to join their Information Security team in Cyprus.

This is an office-based role in Limassol. Relocation to Cyprus is provided by the company.


The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in monitoring security systems, responding to incidents, and ensuring the continuous protection of the company’s infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities:


Security Monitoring and Analysis:

  • Continuously monitor security alerts from various sources such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewalls.
  • Conduct initial analysis of security events to identify potential threats or vulnerabilities.
  • Analyze network traffic and system logs to detect malicious activities or breaches.


Incident Response:

  • Respond to and investigate security incidents promptly.
  • Escalate incidents to SOC L2 or other relevant teams when necessary.
  • Assist in coordinating incident response efforts and document incidents accurately.


Reporting, Documentation, and Process Improvement:

  • Maintain comprehensive records of security incidents and actions taken.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of SOC processes and procedures.
  • Participate in post-incident reviews and recommend enhancements to security operations.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • 1-2 years of experience in security operations or IT security roles.
  • Solid understanding of information security principles and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts clearly.
  • Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
  • Experience working with IDS/IPS, firewalls, and other security technologies.
  • Intermediate level of English.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards such as ISO 27001, ISO 27701, PCI DSS, GDPR, and others.
