We are hiring for a Senior Engineering Lead - Head of Messenger to take ownership of a giant Messenger platform, working in one of the biggest super-apps in Middle-East.

Our client has built a unique platform, offering services such as VoIP communications, instant messaging, digital payments, and more b2b and b2c services.

Currently with 90 million registered users and 25 million active monthly users, they are launching new services within their core platform.

The current tech and engineering team comprises talent from WeChat, Tencent, Grab, TikTok, Microsoft, and other big-tech companies.

The core tech and design team are Chinese-speaking and we will only consider candidates that can speak fluent Mandarin and English.

We are looking for:

• 5+ years managing and leading a back-end engineering team (10+ individuals)
• Extensive messaging platform experience (WeChat, WhatsApp, Telegram etc.)
• Mastery in distributed system design and microservices architecture
• Proficient in Java, deep understanding of backend technologies: Spring, SpringBoot, Sofa, Dubbu, myBatis, SQL and NoSQL databases, MySQL database and Redis, message middleware such as kafka and rocketmq
