Own security engineering end-to-end at a venture-backed fintech building a US bank from scratch, reporting to the CISO. Define the SSDLC, harden cloud and CI/CD paths, build AI-native security review pipelines, and lead detection and incident response in production. Requires extensive hands-on security engineering experience in regulated environments, proven security automation shipped to production, and on-site work in Berlin 3 days/week.

Annual base salary of €100,000–€150,000 plus equity, based in Berlin with 3 days/week in-office
Key Responsibilities
Enforce an SSDLC with required design, build, and release checkpoints across EU-live payment/ledger services and US launch-critical services
Stand up an AI-native product-security review pipeline that auto-triages code, dependency, and IaC findings and proposes fixes in pull requests
Expand baseline coverage of Tier-1 services for workload identity hardening, secret management, runtime audit logging, and dependency monitoring
Move beyond threat modeling and harden cloud and CI/CD paths
Build detection and response workflows and lead high-quality incident response
Drive remediation to closure with clear risk tradeoffs while keeping product velocity high
Influence architecture decisions before launch through fast, lightweight risk reviews and pragmatic controls
Write production-grade code or infrastructure changes, not only policy or tickets
Deliver monthly control-evidence reporting to Security & Compliance
