The role
We are growing and looking for a Data Scientist who enjoys building and improving things from end to end. You will take ownership of development projects and data analysis, help shape new capabilities, and work in a small team where your contribution makes a visible difference.
We are looking for someone who communicates clearly, actively works with colleagues and takes initiative. You should feel comfortable bringing ideas forward, asking questions, sharing progress and helping others solve problems.
The data we work with is unusually varied: signals and sound, images and video, free text, and molecular data spanning genetics, epigenetics, the microbiome, proteomics and metabolomics. Each brings different challenges, and part of your role will be choosing methods that fit the problem. Clear visualisation and explanation of results are central to the work.

- Work closely with colleagues to turn scientific and customer needs into practical solutions

Must have
- Excellent communication skills: you explain ideas clearly, listen carefully and keep colleagues informed about progress, challenges and next steps
- Strong teamwork: you collaborate proactively, share knowledge and support colleagues in achieving shared goals
- Initiative and ownership: you spot what needs doing, propose practical solutions and follow through without waiting for detailed instructions
- Strong interest in biology and/or healthcare
- Experience with Python and backend development, such as Django and REST APIs
- Experience with AI and machine learning tools, such as PyTorch or scikit-learn
- A degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, AI or a related field
