Senior Data Scientist - SQL, Python & R - Portugal Full Remote

The project

We're looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join a high-performing engineering team working on data-driven products and business challenges for international clients.

You'll work closely with C-level stakeholders, marketing, product, and technical teams, using data science to solve complex business problems and influence decisions around marketing performance and product growth. You'll own projects end to end — from data modelling and experimentation to building and productionising models.

Stack: Python, R, SQL, Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, AWS, Git, CI/CD

Location: Full Remote – Portugal

Compensation: €2,200 – €2,700/month net, depending on experience and seniority level.

What you need

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, with strong autonomy in complex projects
• Strong Python and R skills — both mandatory
• Advanced SQL and experience working with large datasets
• Experience with CI/CD applied to data or ML workflows
• Hands-on experience with AWS, preferably S3, Redshift, SageMaker or Lambda
• Strong knowledge of data modelling methodologies such as Kimball, Inmon and Data Vault 2.0
• Practical experience with Databricks or an equivalent lakehouse platform
• Strong communication skills and ability to translate data into clear business insights
• Experience influencing product or marketing decisions through data
• English B2+ (mandatory)

Nice to have: Causal inference, Bayesian modelling, Snowflake, Azure/GCP, dbt, Airflow, Terraform, marketing analytics, Marketing Mix Modeling, experimentation frameworks, and experience mentoring junior Data Scientists.
