Senior Data Scientist & Data Scientist (AI & Data Consulting, Japan)

We are currently partnering with a fast-growing AI & Data consulting company in Japan that is actively expanding its AI & Data division and is now looking for both Data Scientists and Senior Data Scientists.

Please note that prior financial industry experience is NOT required.

For Foreigner Candidates, a valid Japanese work visa and Japanese Business Level are required to apply.

Position Levels

• 1–3 years of experience: ¥5M – ¥10M JPY
• 3+ years of experience: ¥10M – ¥25M JPY

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to work at the intersection of enterprise AI, large-scale data architecture, and real business transformation within Japan’s financial industry

The company works directly with major enterprise clients (in Japan & Global) on large-scale AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics initiatives. Their projects cover everything from enterprise AI enablement and cloud-based analytics environments to MLOps implementation, Generative AI initiatives, and organization-wide data utilization strategies.

These positions offer the opportunity to work on real-world AI implementation projects involving machine learning, structured data analytics, cloud-native data platforms, and next-generation enterprise AI ecosystems.

The environment is highly collaborative and technology-driven, combining hands-on development, advanced analytics, and business-oriented AI implementation projects.

Interview Process:

Key Responsibilities:

• Support enterprise-level AI and machine learning projects

• Design, develop, and evaluate machine learning models for structured/table data

• Perform data processing, feature engineering, and model evaluation using Python

• Support production-ready AI/ML implementation with MLOps considerations

• Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze business challenges and define technical solutions

• Participate in AI implementation, PoC, and advanced analytics initiatives

• Contribute to reusable AI/analytics frameworks and internal solution development

• Support enterprise AI modernization and Generative AI projects

Examples of projects include:

• Enterprise AI and machine learning implementation initiatives

• AutoML evaluation and deployment support

• Generative AI operational efficiency projects

• Data preprocessing and analytics support for AI model development

• AI/ML model deployment and evaluation workflow design

• Enterprise-wide data utilization and AI transformation projects

Requirements:

• Experience using machine learning in real business environments

• Experience analyzing structured/table data

• Experience with Python for data analysis and modeling

• Business-level Japanese (JLPT N2+ or equivalent)

• Eligibility to work in Japan

Preferred:

• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or modern cloud data platforms

• Experience with MLOps or production AI systems

• Experience creating business value through data analysis

• Experience with AI or Generative AI-related initiatives

• English communication skills

• Enterprise or consulting project experience
