As a Support Engineer, you will join our Managed Services team in the UK who manage and monitor database and cloud platforms for our customers across Azure, AWS, and on-premises. It’s a diverse role offering many opportunities for learning technical skills and progression.
We are looking for someone with client-facing service desk experience who is looking to take the next step and progress into technical server and client support, with a future path into cloud infrastructure and database management. The role is primarily to work directly with offshore development teams to support data extraction and query requests, the building of environments involving SQL Server databases, Ubuntu web servers, MongoDB databases, and DevOps pipelines, and troubleshooting issues.
This is an interesting mix of skills and tasks, and training and support will be provided throughout. We expect successful candidates to develop strong skills across these technologies but don’t be put off if you haven’t already had exposure to all of these.
People who do well at Cloud Rede are lifelong learners with a customer service mindset who want to do a great job for customers and love seeking out ways to proactively improve systems and go beyond break/fix activities.
What we need to see:
- Experience with service desk work
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with different clients and teams
- Experience with basic SQL querying (any platform)
- Good experience with general Windows Server support
- A methodical approach, and able to manage incoming requests
- A strong desire to develop technical skills to the expert level
- We have data residency requirements that mean you MUST be based in the UK

The working environment:
- We are a 100% remote workforce based in the UK
- There is no on-call rota, but this role needs to support regular software releases out-of-hours. These releases are shared between the team members, and you will get the time back when you want to take it.
