About The Role

Washington University is seeking a Systems Engineer II to join its IT team, specifically within the Shared Infrastructure Data Center. This fully remote position plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (IPAM) services. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of network infrastructure, supporting the university’s mission of academic excellence and innovation. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to test new systems, manage changes effectively, and respond promptly to incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to university operations.

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in IP networking, with hands-on experience in managing Infoblox DNS solutions. They should demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to mentor junior staff members. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on DNS, DHCP, and IPAM services.
• Proficiency with Infoblox DNS appliances and related network management tools.
• Strong understanding of IP networking concepts, protocols, and security best practices.
• Experience with change management processes and incident response.
