Oxbow Talent has partnered with a well-funded, venture-backed AI startup that's transforming how enterprise retailers and consumer brands automate operational workflows using agentic AI.

Following significant customer growth, they're looking to hire multiple Forward Deployed Engineers on the east coast to work directly with enterprise customers, deploying AI agents into real production environments.

Candidates must have experience of Retail, CPG, ECommerce or Logistics and be based on the East Coast.

This isn't a pre-sales or solutions consulting role. You'll own customer deployments from discovery through production, embedding with customers to redesign processes, build AI integrations and deliver measurable business outcomes.

What you'll be doing

🚀 Work directly with customers throughout AI deployments

🚀 Embed on customer sites during active implementations (approximately 3 days per week)

🚀 Design, build and deploy production AI agents using LLMs, MCPs and modern agent frameworks

🚀 Build integrations using Python, JavaScript, SQL, APIs, webhooks and enterprise systems

🚀 Translate operational workflows into AI-powered automations that deliver measurable business impact

🚀 Partner closely with Product and Engineering, feeding customer insights back into future platform development

🚀 Build reusable deployment frameworks and implementation playbooks as the company scales

What they're looking for

✔️ 5+ years' experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Applied AI Engineer, AI Consultant or similar customer-facing delivery role

✔️ Experience deploying production AI or agentic systems within customer environments

✔️ Strong experience building with MCPs, APIs, LLMs, prompt engineering and agent frameworks

✔️ Python, JavaScript/TypeScript and SQL development experience

✔️ Experience owning the full implementation lifecycle from scoping through go-live

✔️ Background within retail, eCommerce, CPG or supply chain operations

✔️ Startup or consulting experience where you've delivered multiple customer projects in fast-paced environments

✔️ Excellent stakeholder management and customer communication skills
