Job Description
About Enact Insight
Entertainment is an industry built on dreams and aspirations, thoughts and feelings. At Enact Insight, our mission is to help the art of entertainment flourish through data.
Our team is composed of industry experts who are both artists and analysts. Having worked on hundreds of entertainment marketing campaigns, we understand how to combine expert intuition, tacit knowledge, data analytics, and creativity to give our clients actionable solutions.
We're revolutionizing entertainment market research and analytics through innovations in advertising testing, campaign tracking, and release date optimization for our studio and agency clients.
As a Senior Data Engineer & Power BI Developer, you'll play a vital role in overseeing and managing our weekly data processing workflow alongside the Head of Data and other data team members, while also building and maintaining the Power BI dashboards that bring that data to life for internal teams and clients alike.
The role is split between Python-based data engineering and Power BI dashboard design and maintenance. On the data side, you'll build and optimize scripts that move data through every stage of our weekly business cycle, working with both proprietary and third-party services — which requires solid experience with AWS tools like Lambda, RDS, and CloudWatch, along with strong Python and Pandas/NumPy fluency.
On the BI side, you'll maintain and extend a substantial existing library of Power BI reports, with a focus on clean visual design, strong data modeling, and dashboards that hold up under real analytical use by both internal stakeholders and external clients.

This is a full-time, fully remote position. Given our startup structure and flat organization, there's considerable room for growth. You'll work directly with our CEO and Head of Data.
- Data Processing with Python Work with the Head of Data to develop, maintain, and scale Python scripts that process and route data to multiple destinations — PostgreSQL tables, multi-tabbed Excel files, Power BI, and other tools.
- Power BI Dashboarding Maintain and build new reports for internal teams and clients. This includes working with advanced data modeling, DAX, report design, and PBI administration/governance — our current reports rely on things like advanced DAX measures, large semantic models, and Power BI Embedded, so comfort operating at that level matters.
- AWS Infrastructure Management Own the configuration and maintenance of AWS services supporting data processing, storage, and output, including regular use of EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, and CloudWatch.
- 5+ years of professional experience in a full-time data processing role working with large datasets in Python. Must include extensive use of Jupyter notebooks, Pandas, SQL, and PostgreSQL (schema design, advanced querying, migrations), plus experience routing output to Excel files, database tables, and visualization tools.
- 4+ years of professional experience building Power BI dashboards in both Power BI Desktop and the Power BI Cloud Service, including advanced DAX, semantic model design, and multi-page report architecture. Experience with Power BI Embedded is a plus. Bonus points for leveraging AI to accelerate report development.
- Experience with data visualization tools beyond Power BI (e.g., Python-based visualization libraries, Tableau, or similar) is a nice-to-have.
- Professional experience configuring and managing AWS infrastructure for data processing and storage (RDS, EC2, S3, Cloud9, Lambda), including IAM roles, groups, and policy creation, is ideal.
- Fluency with version control using GitHub and collaborative codebases.
- Ability to quickly learn and adopt new tools and technologies, and to devise Python-based solutions to new data engineering problems.
- Comfortable with Google Workspace (Slides, Docs, Sheets).
- College degree preferred, ideally in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
