What is it like to be a Quality Assurance Engineer at DHV Technology?


As a Quality Assurance Engineer at DHV Technology, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and conformity of our space photovoltaic solar panels throughout the entire manufacturing lifecycle. Working closely with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Assurance, Supply Chain, and external suppliers, you will ensure that materials, manufacturing processes, inspections, and final products comply with customer requirements and the highest aerospace quality standards.


This role combines a strong understanding of manufacturing processes with a proactive quality mindset, requiring attention to detail, analytical thinking, and close collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to support product excellence, traceability, continuous improvement, and successful customer deliveries.


Responsibilities

You will be engaged in all quality assurance activities related to the manufacturing of space photovoltaic solar panels, including but not limited to:


  • Ensure compliance with quality requirements for incoming materials, in process assemblies, and finished products prior to customer delivery.
  • Perform incoming inspection and quality control of materials and components supplied by external vendors, supporting supplier qualification, monitoring, and audits when required.
  • Validate and supervise in process and final inspections, ensuring the correct implementation of inspection plans, acceptance criteria, and full product traceability.
  • Conduct product, process, and manufacturing audits in accordance with customer requirements, internal procedures, and applicable aerospace quality standards.
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering in the definition and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, work instructions, inspection plans, and quality controls.
  • Manage manufacturing quality incidents and non conformities, leading root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions in collaboration with Product Assurance and production teams.
  • Ensure the proper management of quality records, inspection reports, statistical process control data, metrology, calibration, and product handling, storage, and transportation conditions.
  • Review and approve manufacturing documentation and quality records required for internal acceptance and customer deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with ESD protection, cleanliness, contamination control, and clean room requirements throughout manufacturing and inspection activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying quality risks, process deviations, and opportunities to increase manufacturing robustness and product reliability.
  • Provide technical guidance to inspectors and production personnel regarding quality requirements, inspection methods, and acceptance criteria


Education and Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following requirements:


  • University degree in Industrial, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electronics, Materials Engineering, or a related scientific or technical field.
  • Previous experience in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Quality, Product Quality, or Inspection activities within the aerospace, automotive, electronics, energy, or other high technology manufacturing industries.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes, assembly, integration, or inspection of complex industrial products is highly valued.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and applicable international quality standards. Familiarity with ESA, ECSS, ISO 9001, or EN9100 standards will be considered an advantage.
  • English proficiency (spoken and written) at an intermediate to advanced level, suitable for technical documentation and professional communication.


Technical Competencies

Candidates should demonstrate strong knowledge and experience in the following areas:


  • Manufacturing processes, industrial assembly, and inspection techniques.
  • Quality control methodologies, inspection methods, and the use of measuring equipment.
  • Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Management of non conformities, quality records, and product acceptance activities.
  • Understanding of traceability, documentation control, configuration management, and quality requirements in regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with clean room operations, ESD protection, and contamination control.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and process quality monitoring is considered an asset.
