WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS

Keep Rising is technology built on heart drive, not just hard drive. We help advisors, coaches, therapists, and case managers stay meaningfully connected to their clients in the space between sessions, which is where real life happens and where most change is won or lost. We are not building a chatbot that replaces the advisor. We are building the connective tissue that makes the human relationship stronger, faster, and more sustainable. AI does the heavy lifting. Humans do the uplifting. That line is not a tagline for us. It is the architecture.

We are a small, founder-led team moving fast on Keep Rising Lite, our SMS-first extension of the platform, and on KOVA (Keeping One’s Vision Alive), our AI journey builder that helps advisors turn a client description into a full, personalized behavior-change plan in under a minute. We are AI-ifying quickly across the whole product, and we need a builder who lives in that world already, not one who is learning it on the job.

WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY BUILD

• Keep Rising Lite, our SMS-first client engagement layer: build and harden a HIPAA-aware texting layer, wire up the SMS gateway, and get structured AI-driven journeys reaching clients who will never download an app.

• The AI journey-building engine: continue evolving KOVA (Keeping One’s Vision Alive) our AI journey builder, and the advisor dashboard that sits on top of it.
• Front-end and product experience: own onboarding flows, the advisor and client-facing UI, and the day-to-day polish that makes a complex platform feel simple.
• AI and automation: connect Claude and ChatGPT into our workflows using MCP and agentic tooling, both for the product itself and for internal operations (CRM, support, content).

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Must-haves

• Real, hands-on experience with agentic AI tooling, specifically Claude Code or an equivalent, and the MCP protocol. You should be able to talk through an integration you actually built, not one you read about.
• Full-stack capability with genuine front-end ownership. You are comfortable owning a UI end to end, not waiting for a designer to hand you a spec.
• Startup instincts. You've worked lean, worn multiple hats, and are energized by ownership rather than needing prescriptive tickets.
• A collaborative, question-asking approach. We want someone who pushes back and asks "is there a better way," not someone who executes silently.
• Comfortable overlapping meaningfully with Pacific time for syncs, even if your own hours are flexible.

Strong pluses

• UI/UX and visual design sense. If you can move from a rough idea to a clean, coherent interface without a dedicated designer in the room, that's a real advantage here.
• Experience in health, wellness, recovery, coaching, education or another mission-driven, human-centered space.
• Familiarity with HIPAA-adjacent product work, though this is not required. We have a HIPAA spec, and we'll bring you up to speed.

• Experience with messaging or SMS platforms (Textline, OhMD, Spruce, Twilio, AWS Pinpoint/SNS, or similar).

HOW WE WORK

We run lean and move quickly. You'll work closely with Renée (President, product) and Matt (lead developer), with real independence and real ownership from day one. We communicate primarily through Slack and Notion, ship continuously rather than in rigid sprints, and follow a conscious-leadership model: you tell us what you're committing to, and if something's going to slip, you say so early. No drama, no blame, just honesty.

This starts as a contract role. If the fit is right on both sides, and we expect it will be, our intention is to move you toward full-time within the next few months as Keep Rising Lite launches and the business scales.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Keep Rising is part of a larger movement, not just a product roadmap. We believe behavior change fails when systems fail people, not the other way around, and we're building the infrastructure that finally solves for that: cadence, personalization, advisor uplift, and real human accountability, amplified by AI rather than replaced by it. If you want your work to matter beyond a sprint board, this is that kind of role.

COMPENSATION & LOGISTICS

• Rate is discussed individually based on experience, geography and scope.
• Contract (1099) to start, with a clear path to full-time as we grow.
• Fully remote. Meaningful overlap with Pacific time required for team syncs.
• Reports directly to executive product leadership
