About The Role

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) at HCM Unlocked is a remote, client-facing role responsible for delivering comprehensive HR services to our clients. This full-time, W-2 exempt position involves acting as a trusted advisor and primary HR contact for an assigned portfolio of clients. The HRBP will provide fractional HR support, including employee relations, policy development, onboarding, offboarding, and compliance management. The role requires a detail-oriented professional who excels in customer service, possesses strong problem-solving skills, and can make critical decisions to meet client objectives efficiently. Candidates should be comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment, managing multiple client relationships, and providing practical HR guidance across various industries.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 4-7 years of progressive experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and employee relations
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems such as ADP WFN, Paylocity, Paycor UKG, Rippling, or similar platforms
  • SHRM or PHR certification is highly preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in consulting or multi-client service environments in the HCM industry is a plus
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, distraction-free home workspace
  • Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and maintain productivity remotely

Responsibilities

  • Provide HR support to clients on employee relations, policy development, and HR best practices
  • Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with assigned clients by understanding their business, culture, and HR priorities
  • Guide client administrators and managers on employee performance, documentation, workplace issues, and policy interpretation
  • Support workplace investigations and ensure proper documentation
  • Ensure legal compliance with federal and state employment regulations and update policies accordingly
  • Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining HR policies, procedures, and Employee Handbooks
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless experience for new hires and departing employees
  • Utilize HRIS systems to manage employee records, benefits administration, leave management, and status changes
  • Oversee recruitment activities including job postings, candidate screening, background checks, and offer letters when needed
  • Support clients in responding to government agency requests related to employment data and unemployment claims
  • Assist in executing performance management processes such as reviews, discipline, and employee development initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, service enhancements, and additional HR solutions
  • Contribute to team knowledge sharing, development of templates, and best practices for HR consulting
