Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Senior ETL Database Test Engineer. The role involves designing and executing test strategies for ETL processes, data pipelines, and database integrations to ensure data accuracy, consistency, performance, and reliability. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts for data validation, transformation logic, and end-to-end data flows across multiple source and target systems. The Senior ETL Database Test Engineer collaborates closely with data engineers, architects, developers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements, identify defects, and drive quality improvements in data solutions. Daily activities also include root cause analysis of data issues, performance and regression testing of ETL jobs, documentation of test results, and continuous enhancement of testing frameworks and best practices.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in ETL testing, including validation of data extraction, transformation, and loading across relational and non-relational databases.
• Proficiency in SQL and database technologies, with hands-on skills in writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performing data analysis.
• Experience with data warehousing and BI environments, including dimensional modeling, data marts, and reporting validation.
• Knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools used for data and ETL testing, along with version control and CI/CD practices.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms and services (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP) and modern data pipeline tools is highly beneficial.
