Outline Of The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems and Power professional to lead and supervise the development and integration of flight control, avionics and power systems in our electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft program. This role will be responsible for overseeing a multidisciplinary team of engineers and collaborating across departments to ensure the successful design, development, testing, and certification of flight control, avionics, electrical and powertrain systems in compliance with aerospace standards.

- System Architecture & Integration
- Oversee the definition and integration of aircraft systems including flight control, avionics, electrical power distribution, battery systems, propulsion powertrains, thermal management, and avionics power interfaces.
- Ensure robust system architecture to meet safety, reliability, and performance requirements.
- Technical Oversight
- Provide technical guidance on system-level design, trade studies, modeling/simulation, and failure modes analysis.
- Review design documentation, schematics, interface control documents (ICDs), and verification/validation plans.
- Regulatory Compliance & Certification
- Ensure systems meet applicable aviation standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., FAA/JCAB , DO-160, ARP4754A, DO-178C, DO-254, etc.).
- Coordinate with certification authorities and support safety assessments including FHA, PSSA, and SSA.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with flight controls, propulsion, avionics, software, structures, and manufacturing teams to ensure integrated system performance.
- Interface with suppliers and partners for outsourced components and systems.
- Program Management Support
- Collaborate with project managers to define scope, schedule, budget, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Track progress against key performance indicators (KPIs) and report status to senior leadership.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in aerospace systems and power development.
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership or management role.
- Strong understanding of avionics, flight control systems, electric propulsion, high-voltage power systems, energy storage, and system integration.
- Proven experience with aerospace standards, safety analysis, and certification processes.
- Proficient in system engineering tools and processes (MBSE, SysML, requirements management).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills.
