About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Network Engineer to lead the design, development, and evolution of our edge-to-cloud connectivity infrastructure. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for architecting highly available, low-latency communication systems that seamlessly connect our on-premise robot deployments with our cloud-native control plane. You will serve as a technical authority for our network systems architecture, ensuring that our scaling fleet is supported by robust, enterprise-grade networking foundations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of industrial automation and robotics networking, working closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that support global robot deployments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in network architecture, systems engineering, or a senior networking role within complex, distributed environments
• Expertise in Telco/5G wireless networking, including experience with containerized network functions and kernel-level performance optimization
• Proficiency in the Linux network stack and core networking protocols such as BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP
• Experience designing and implementing complex SDN and virtualization solutions at scale
• Deep understanding of wired and wireless packet analysis, including PCAP and Wi-Fi frame analysis using Wireshark and tcpdump
• Working knowledge of IEEE 802.11 standards (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be / Wi-Fi 5/6/6E/7) and channel/band behaviors across multiple frequency bands
• Ability to travel 25% to 50% across the US and Canada

Preferred Experience

• Deep proficiency with AWS cloud networking services such as VPC design, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, and IoT Core
• Familiarity with Linux kernel eBPF/XDP for high-performance packet processing and observability
• Experience with RF spectrum analysis tools to identify interference, noise anomalies, and channel contention

• Design and implement next-generation connectivity solutions utilizing 5G and private LTE networks, integrating containerized network functions to optimize edge performance
• Develop scalable, multi-tenant network architectures that support global robot deployments, with a focus on security, performance, and fleet-wide observability
• Engineer solutions for high-throughput, low-latency telemetry and control traffic through kernel tuning and modern packet processing frameworks
• Define standards for secure, high-performance tunneling between distributed edge devices and centralized cloud infrastructure
