Operations and Digital Systems Manager

The role

MIMAH runs solar and power generation projects from its UK headquarters, with delivery teams in Sudan, Nigeria, Egypt and Denmark, and is now building a UK installation business. This role owns the systems that hold that together. You will run the group's Microsoft cloud environment and business platform, build the operational workflow for the UK solar business from the ground up, and work with country teams to adapt procedures that already work in our overseas operations into the UK. You report to the Director.


What you will own

The Microsoft 365 and Azure environment. You administer the group tenancy: identity and access management in Entra ID, app registrations and API permission management, security and conditional access policies, and SharePoint administration including provisioning sites for company-wide communications and project document libraries. Our internal AI agents run as registered applications in Azure and receive their access through Entra ID, so you will manage the permission model they operate under and keep it tight.

The business platform. We run on Odoo, integrated with SharePoint for document management. You own its rollout and administration across the group: configuring CRM, procurement, invoicing and project record modules; building reports the Director and country managers actually use; managing users across four time zones; and maintaining one clean, auditable record of delivery — our institutional clients' funders audit that data.


The UK operational workflow. You will build and then run the end-to-end process for UK solar jobs: enquiry logged, site survey scheduled, quotation issued, connection paperwork submitted to the distribution network operator (G98 notifications for smaller systems, G99 applications for larger ones) and tracked to approval, installation documented, completed systems registered on the MCS Installation Database, handover pack produced, system added to monitoring. You will attend installations to coordinate site logistics and capture the documentation the compliance records depend on.


Tendering tooling. You maintain and develop our AI-assisted bid preparation and tender review tooling, and run it on live tenders with the commercial team.

Knowledge transfer from group operations. You will work with our teams in Sudan, Nigeria, Egypt and Denmark to document how they run field reporting, procurement and project close-out, standardise those procedures on the platform, and train field and office staff on the systems you administer.


Your first year

By month six: the UK workflow live end-to-end in Odoo, the MCS documentation system in place, and the first UK installations processed through it. By month twelve: group teams in at least three countries on the standardised platform, monitoring reports going to institutional clients on schedule, and monthly pipeline and delivery reporting established with the Director.


What you will bring

  • Degree in computer science or a closely related field
  • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 and Azure environments, including Entra ID, app registrations and permission management
  • Experience deploying and administering ERP or CRM platforms in a commercial environment, including workflow configuration and reporting
  • Experience applying automation or AI tooling to real business workflows such as document processing, tendering or reporting
  • Experience supporting project delivery or operations in an engineering, construction or energy business
  • Experience coordinating work across internationally distributed teams
  • Clear, accurate written English for compliance documentation and management reporting
  • Right to work in the UK

Bonus points

  • Solar PV sector experience, particularly project documentation, monitoring or reporting

Package
