We are building a brand-new, state-of-the-art flat-rolled manufacturing facility, and we need a talented Level 2 Engineer to join our Hot Mill team. This is a critical, newly created position designed to bring specialized expertise in-house. Instead of relying on external contractors and mill builders, you will be our resident expert, owning the hardware and software for our Level 2 automation systems. Responsibilities
- Lead root cause investigations on processing defects to determine exactly why a failure occurred and how to prevent it.
- Take full ownership of maintaining and optimizing the SMS Mill Setup and Cooling Section Control Level 2 systems.
- Act as the crucial bridge between our Hot Mill operations and the IT department to ensure seamless system integration.
- Manage critical database and server administration tasks to keep our mill running at peak efficiency.
- Troubleshoot complex automation problems, perform rigorous system tests, and continuously monitor trends from the control room.

Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
- At least two years of hands-on experience with computer programming languages like C, C++, or object-oriented programming such as C#.
- Solid experience working with communication protocols including CAN, Ethernet/IP, TCP, or UDP.
- A strong foundation in server administration using Linux or Server 2008.
- An understanding of metal rolling theory and underlying mill control systems is highly preferred but not strictly required.
