The hospital is recognized as a Cardiac ST-elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) Receiving Center, Primary Stroke Center, and Pediatric Medical Center, with a designated Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP). The Position
Director of People Operations
Reporting to John Peeples, Vice President of Human Resources, the Director of People Operations will serve as a strategic and operational leader responsible for strengthening the HR infrastructure required to support high-quality patient care and an employee-focused culture. This leader will oversee People Operations, Total Rewards, HR systems, workforce planning, compliance processes, analytics, and service delivery.
This is an opportunity to help shape the next chapter of the people function at Valley Presbyterian Hospital. The Director will integrate systems thinking, data-driven decision-making, employee experience design, compliance excellence, and operational discipline to ensure HR services are reliable, measurable, and aligned with organizational goals. The successful candidate will help position VPH as both an employer of choice and a trusted healthcare provider by improving HR workflows, advancing engagement, supporting leaders, and building scalable infrastructure.

Experience/Qualifications
- Eight or more years of progressive HR leadership experience, ideally in healthcare.
- Strong background in HR operations, compensation, HR systems, compliance, analytics, workforce planning, and service delivery.
- Experience leading culture, engagement, process improvement, and operational transformation initiatives.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required/preferred in alignment with experience.
- Knowledge of employment law, healthcare compliance, data privacy, HR records management, audits, and policy governance.
- Experience with HRIS, ATS maintenance, performance management systems, dashboards, reporting, and HR technology vendors.
- SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or related HR certification preferred; LA City Fire Card within 30 days of hire required.

Compensation
For the selected candidate, a complete and competitive compensation package will be offered which includes salary target of $225k+/- dependent upon experience, with incentive comp up to 15% of base, deferred compensation, a full suite of benefits, and relocation assistance.
