Job Description
About Alpine Business Consulting
Alpine Business Consulting specializes in fixing enterprise performance management systems that have ceased to function effectively. Many large organizations invest millions into complex planning and reporting tools, only to find that poor configuration and skipped steps during implementation have left their teams with data they cannot trust. We step in to resolve these issues, ensuring that numbers match and that the month end close process is efficient rather than a source of stress. We pride ourselves on providing a single source of truth for finance and operations departments.
Currently, our team is working with our partner, a major logistics firm, to overhaul their internal reporting environment. This project involves untangling years of messy data and building a reliable framework for their global operations. We work with seniors who have deep expertise in Oracle and SAP systems, ensuring that our clients receive practical solutions instead of theoretical advice. We are a fully remote company and operate with a focus on transparency, predictability, and high quality documentation.
The role
We are seeking a Data Analyst Intern to join our team for a full time internship. In this role, you will assist our senior consultants in the day to day tasks of data cleaning, system audit, and documentation. You will help us examine how information flows from the operations of our logistics partner into their financial systems. This is an opportunity to learn how professional consultants approach large scale data challenges without the distractions of a traditional office environment.
This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from your own space while staying connected with the team through digital tools. We value clarity and directness in our work. We do not use our clients as a training ground for junior staff, which means you will be supported and guided by experienced professionals every step of the way. This is a paid position, and the compensation is competitive for the entry level market.
What you will do
- Review and audit large datasets to identify errors, duplicates, or inconsistencies.
- Help maintain the single source of truth by validating data as it moves between different software platforms.
- Draft clear and concise documentation and configuration guides for our clients.
- Assist in the preparation of reporting dashboards that offer real world utility to departmental leaders.
- Support senior consultants with research tasks related to system updates and technical requirements.
- Participate in internal project updates to track progress against fixed price project milestones.
- Verify that final reports match the source data through rigorous reconciliation steps.

Our approach is centered on handing over a system that the client can actually run themselves. We avoid the typical corporate habit of creating dependency. Instead, we focus on clean data and robust configuration guides. We believe in providing fixed price quotes, which means we must be disciplined in our work and avoid unnecessary complications. At Alpine, you will learn the value of being a reliable professional who delivers exactly what was promised. We focus on the work itself, avoiding the fluff and jargon that often complicates the consulting industry.
Every member of our team is expected to contribute to a culture of honesty and documentation. We believe that if a process is not documented, it is not finished. You will spend your time learning how to build things that last and how to communicate complex technical details in plain, understandable language.
