PHP Developer in JAPAN

Overview:

• Role: PHP Engineer
• Salary range: 4M to 7M JPY
• Location: Full remote (Japan)
• Required English level: Advanced
• Required Japanese level: Advanced

Job Overview:

• We are initiating the development of marketing tools that integrate with our marketing SaaS platform and plan to expand our core team to scale the product further. We are seeking to advance Laravel application development in collaboration with lead-level engineers.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with internal Product Managers and offshore development teams to develop and maintain web application features using PHP (Laravel)
• Balance development projects while addressing technical debt and rearchitecting tasks initiated by the engineering team.

• Database: Amazon Aurora / MongoDB
• Analytics Platform: Microsoft Fabric
• CI: GitHub Actions
• Source Code Management: GitHub
• UI/UX: Figma
• Business Tools: Slack, Notion, Backlog
• Backlog Management: Backlog, Jira

Engineering Organization:

• The engineering team is currently comprised of approximately 60 members. Although the offshore team from Vietnam currently represents a significant portion, we are steadily increasing our in-house capabilities.
• Japan Team (including Tokyo headquarters, Okinawa, Osaka, and remote locations): Approximately 40 members
• Offshore Team in Vietnam: Approximately 20 members

Evaluation System:

• Evaluations are conducted semi-annually (March/September), with salary adjustments occurring at these times. Historically, 20% to 30% of engineers have received salary increases during each evaluation period.

Team Culture:

• Many members work flexibly, including remote and regional positions.
• Main communication is via Slack chat.
• Daily issues are resolved through regular huddles.
• Includes international members and actively engages in English communication.
• While focusing on advanced technology as a means rather than an end, the team is proactive in adopting cutting-edge technologies.

Must Haves:

• More than 2 years of experience in web application development using PHP (Laravel)
• Practical experience working in a team using Git
