Our data analysts are embedded team members, working closely alongside product managers, software engineers, and designers within our mission aligned team (MAT) model. This structure allows team members to gain in-depth experience and context into specific business problems and verticals, fostering rapid growth into subject matter experts. The role offers a dynamic and impactful opportunity to take ownership of your work by conducting detailed analyses and transforming insights into actionable solutions.
This position specifically focuses on working with user and transaction-level data to proactively enhance authentication and payment processes, while simultaneously reducing payment fraud and chargebacks. Responsibilities include building and maintaining payments monitoring dashboards, investigating suspicious activities, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to develop, test, and refine our payments logic and infrastructure. Effective communication of insights and ensuring data quality are essential to improving the overall payments ecosystem.

What You’ll Be Working On
- Leverage complex datasets to generate actionable insights that influence payments and fraud strategies, ultimately driving business outcomes.
- Support the development and testing of payment and fraud rules by defining objectives, analyzing data to optimize rules, conducting A/B tests, and measuring key metric impacts.
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions to facilitate self-service analytics across various teams.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, marketing, finance, and other departments to scope analytical projects and deliver insights that inform decision-making.
- Investigate anomalies and conduct root cause analysis related to payment and fraud incidents to identify underlying issues.
- Communicate complex findings clearly and effectively through presentations, reports, and data storytelling tailored to diverse audiences.
- Promote data quality, governance, and best practices to ensure the reliability, security, and consistency of data assets.
- Mentor junior analysts and interns, fostering growth within the analytics community and enhancing team capabilities.
- Participate in weekly payments syncs, sprint planning, and cross-team channels to stay aligned on priorities and incident response activities.
- Independently identify high-impact business problems and develop data-driven solutions to address them.

- 5+ years of experience in data or analytics roles.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis, including building production-ready queries, data models, and workflows.
- Experience working with complex datasets within modern data warehouses and transformation tools such as Snowflake and dbt.
- Proficiency with BI and dashboarding tools like Looker, Amplitude, or Tableau.
- Proven ability to own ambiguous problems end-to-end, including scoping questions, defining success metrics, validating data quality, and iterating based on stakeholder feedback.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience partnering cross-functionally, managing competing requests, and aligning stakeholders on priorities and trade-offs.
- High ownership mindset with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment where priorities evolve rapidly.
- Comfort working with messy, event-level product data across mobile and web platforms, including tracing user journeys and debugging data issues with engineers.
