Job Description


COMPENSATION: PHP 45,000-75,000 per month, depending on experience. Fully remote.


FDC Servers (AS30058) is a global dedicated server, colocation, and IP transit provider operating across 27+ cities. We're hiring L2 Network Administrators with solid hands-on Juniper Junos experience and some Cisco experience to support daily network operations, customer tickets, and data center network tasks.


This role suits someone with strong networking fundamentals who can investigate customer issues, run standard network checks, assist with VLAN and port work, and gather the right information before escalating complex routing or backbone issues. You should be comfortable in a ticketing environment, following procedures, documenting clearly, and communicating professionally with customers and internal teams.


This is a fully remote role on a 24/7 rotation. We have established network teams in the US and EU and are expanding coverage in the Asia/APAC time zone, so this position helps own the overnight window the other regions can't cover.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handle L2 network tickets and customer network requests.
  • - Troubleshoot customer connectivity, gateway reachability, VLAN, subnet, and port issues.
  • - Review Juniper switch/router config for interfaces, VLANs, IRBs, and basic routing.
  • - Support Cisco for basic checks, port review, and troubleshooting.
  • - Check interface status, optics, errors, discards, VLAN assignments, LAG status, and port config.
  • - Add/verify VLANs, access ports, trunk ports, and customer handoffs.
  • - Perform IPv4 subnet checks, gateway validation, and route lookups.
  • - Use ping, traceroute, MTR, interface counters, logs, and monitoring during troubleshooting.
  • - Escalate advanced BGP, routing policy, DDoS, backbone, or carrier issues to senior staff.
  • - Work with remote hands and DC staff for cable checks, optic swaps, server port checks, and physical troubleshooting.
  • - Follow approved procedures for changes and customer updates.
  • - Document steps, findings, and completed work clearly in tickets.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Solid hands-on Juniper Junos.
  • - Some Cisco (IOS, IOS-XE, NX-OS / Nexus).
  • - VLANs, access/trunk ports, LACP/LAG, IRB/SVI, and L2 troubleshooting.
  • - Basic routing, gateways, static routes, customer handoffs.
  • - Good IPv4 subnetting.
  • - Read Juniper config and understand interface, VLAN, and routing basics.
  • - Basic Cisco config review and troubleshooting.
  • - Familiar with common troubleshooting commands and tools.
  • - Follow procedures and recognize when to escalate.
  • - Good written English for ticket updates and internal notes.
  • - Ticketing / NOC / hosting / ISP / data center experience preferred.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Basic BGP knowledge.
  • - Data center networks, customer handoffs, dedicated servers, hosting environments.
  • - Monitoring: PRTG, LibreNMS, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
  • - Linux networking and basic server-side checks.
  • - NetBox, documentation/ticket systems, config-backup tools.
  • - Cisco Nexus a plus.
  • - Remote-hands coordination and clear physical-troubleshooting communication.
