About The Role

We are seeking a skilled WordPress Developer to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining infrastructure that enables the creation of new features, enhancement of existing functionalities, and resolution of bugs within our platform. Your work will directly impact the user experience for millions of users worldwide. You will own features from conception through deployment, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. This position requires a proactive self-starter who is passionate about web development, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence. You will be expected to contribute to code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support your peers in a fast-paced environment. Your ability to navigate both front-end and back-end development tasks will be crucial in delivering seamless, efficient, and scalable WordPress solutions.

Qualifications

• Professional experience with WordPress plugin development, architecture, and standards
• Advanced proficiency with PHP and MySQL, including modern PHP practices (OOP, autoloading, namespacing, traits, interfaces)
• Strong familiarity with JavaScript (vanilla JS, jQuery, ES6)
• Experience using and extending build tools like gulp and webpack
• Familiarity with package managers such as Composer and NPM
• Experience working with third-party APIs (e.g., Stripe, Drip, Zapier)
• Proficient in version control systems, particularly Git and GitHub
• Ability to iterate quickly and ship ideas efficiently
• Exceptional troubleshooting skills
• Experience in remote or freelance work environments
• Personal Computer with reliable internet access

Responsibilities

• Triaging and addressing bugs and small enhancements via GitHub
• Scoping, developing, and testing new product features and add-ons
• Refactoring legacy code with a focus on maintaining backwards compatibility
• Providing feedback and conducting peer reviews on GitHub pull requests
• Communicating effectively with team members through chat, audio, and video platforms
• Collaborating on cross-functional tasks that span front-end and back-end development
• Ensuring code quality, performance, and security standards are met
• Documenting development processes and technical specifications
