About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Proxy Network Engineer to join our technical team. This role is pivotal in designing, building, and maintaining our proxy infrastructure from the ground up. Unlike typical configuration roles, this position requires developing core systems such as residential networks, ISP proxies, rotation mechanisms, and session management protocols. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in low-level networking, protocol development, and performance optimization. You will be responsible for creating scalable, high-performance proxy solutions capable of handling billions of requests, ensuring IP reputation management, geo-targeting, and protocol support across diverse proxy types. This is a unique opportunity to lead a greenfield project, shaping the architecture from scratch and implementing innovative solutions that outperform existing solutions.

Qualifications

• BSc or higher in Computer Science, Networking, or a related technical field
• Proven experience building proxy or networking infrastructure from scratch
• Deep understanding of TCP/UDP, sockets, and connection handling
• Expertise in HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS5 protocols at the byte level
• Experience writing reverse proxies and understanding their internal workings
• Strong knowledge of Linux networking tools such as iptables, routing tables, and network namespaces
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and Terraform is a plus
• Experience with high-throughput, low-latency systems
• Understanding of IP reputation management, blacklisting, and recovery
• Knowledge of geo-targeting at country, city, and ASN levels
• Experience with IPv4 and IPv6 protocols and implications

• Familiarity with HTTP/2 and HTTP/3 protocols and their impact on proxy behavior
• Strong documentation and communication skills in English

Responsibilities

• Design and develop proxy infrastructure from the ground up, focusing on performance, scalability, and reliability
• Create and implement IP rotation, session management, and intelligent routing systems
• Manage IP reputation, monitor IP health, and optimize quality across pools
• Build bandwidth reporting and metering tools to track usage and generate insights
• Develop high-performance reverse proxy systems tailored to our use cases
• Handle multiple proxy types including residential, mobile, datacenter, and ISP proxies, understanding their unique characteristics
• Implement geo-targeting features at country, city, and ASN levels
• Optimize network performance through protocol tuning, DNS management, and connection pooling
• Support various protocols such as SOCKS5, HTTP, and HTTPS with different session and authentication types
• Build monitoring and health check systems to ensure proxy pool integrity and redundancy
