Job Description
About MAJC✨
MAJC is the Workforce Engine for Hospitality. The restaurant industry is at an all-time high near $1.5 trillion, yet in-store sales are down 11% as third-party delivery platforms extract operator margin. The last competitive moat an operator has left is a retained, trained workforce. That's what we build.
MAJC is an AI-native workforce operating system: AI-powered job matching, a microlearning Academy with certifications, a professional Community, a portable worker identity (the MAJC Trading Card), and a personal MAJC AI Agent that works for every worker's career. Operators get workforce analytics, salary benchmarking, and a platform that measurably reduces churn. We are venture-backed, revenue-stage, and selling into some of the largest hospitality groups in North America.
We are not a platform with an AI feature bolted on. The AI agent is the product. Everything else is infrastructure.
The Role
You will own the full MAJC Hospitality product — the worker mobile app and the operator-facing layer — end to end. Strategy, roadmap, requirements, prioritization, and shipped outcomes. You report directly to the Founder & CEO and work daily with a senior, fully remote, AI-accelerated engineering team.
This is a hands-on role at a fast-moving company. There is no PM org to manage and no layers between you and the customer. Every build decision must connect to a specific customer pain point — if it doesn't, we don't build it.
What You'll Own
- Own the roadmap. Translate company strategy and live enterprise customer needs into a sequenced, ruthlessly prioritized roadmap. Kill good ideas to ship great ones.
- Work backwards from the customer. Write crisp problem statements and requirements grounded in real operator and worker pain — not frameworks. Validate enterprise features against named customers before a single engineering hour is committed.
- Ship with an AI-native team. Our engineers direct Claude Code and Cursor; speed is a feature. You'll write specs tight enough for AI-accelerated builds and apply judgment on what ships, what iterates, and what gets cut.
- Own AI product quality. Define behavior, evaluation criteria, and guardrails for LLM-powered features — matching, the MAJC AI Agent, Academy content generation. You should be comfortable at the prompt and eval level, not just the feature level.
- Drive metrics that matter. Activation, retention, certification completion, operator engagement, churn reduction. Instrument it, measure it, move it.
- Run the operating cadence. Linear-based execution, clear acceptance criteria, tight release cycles across iOS, Android, and web.
- Be the voice of the user in every room. Talk to workers. Talk to operators. Bring what you hear back into the product weekly.

Who You Are
- 3–7 years of product management experience with consumer mobile and/or B2B SaaS products you shipped end to end.
- AI-native. You have shipped LLM-powered features in production. You can discuss model selection, prompt design, RAG, structured outputs, and evals with engineers — fluently, not conversationally.
- Technically fluent. You don't need to write production code, but you can hold your own in a modern TypeScript stack: React Native + Expo, Cloudflare Workers, Postgres + pgvector, multi-model LLM routing (OpenRouter), Stripe. You read schemas and API docs without flinching.
- An owner. Bias for action, comfortable making calls with incomplete information, allergic to consultant-speak and process for its own sake.
- A sharp writer. Clear, short documents that drive decisions. Customer-obsessed in the Amazon sense — you work backwards from the pain, every time.
- US-based, available on EST business hours.
Necessary Experiences
- Hospitality, staffing, HR tech, or workforce platform experience
- Experience with marketplace or two-sided network products
- You've used Claude Code, Cursor, or similar AI development tools yourself
- Early-stage startup experience (first PM, zero-to-one)

How We Build
TypeScript monorepo. React Native + Expo across iOS, Android, and web. Cloudflare Workers + Hono at the edge. Neon Postgres with Drizzle and pgvector. OpenRouter for multi-model AI routing. Playwright for testing. Linear for execution. Small senior team, no meetings theater, and AI tooling used aggressively at every layer. We've rebuilt major platform components in days, not quarters — you'll set the bar for what's worth building at that speed.
Compensation
- Commitment: 15–20 hours/week
- Rate: $60–$85/hour depending on experience — negotiable for the right candidate
- Location: Anywhere in the US, working EST hours
- Interview process: Conversation with the Founder & CEO, then a working session with our engineering leads. Come ready to walk us through one product you shipped — the decisions, the tradeoffs, and the metric it moved.
How to Apply
Send a short note (no cover letters) with: one LLM-powered feature you shipped, the customer problem it solved, and the result. Link your LinkedIn and anything live we can touch.
