Software Quality Assurance Tester

Role Description This is a remote contract role for a Software Quality Assurance Tester. The tester will design, execute, and document manual and automated test cases for web and/or mobile applications, ensuring that new features and fixes meet defined acceptance criteria. Daily responsibilities include reviewing requirements and user stories, creating test plans and test data, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating with developers and product stakeholders to clarify issues and validate fixes. The role also involves participating in regression, integration, and user acceptance testing, maintaining test suites, and contributing to continuous improvement of QA processes and tools. The tester will work closely with a distributed team, communicating progress, risks, and test results in a clear and timely manner.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Software Quality, Quality Assurance, and Software Quality Assurance practices, including understanding of testing methodologies and SDLC.
• Hands-on experience with Test Execution, including creating, running, and documenting manual and/or automated test cases.

• Well-developed Analytical Skills to interpret requirements, identify edge cases, troubleshoot issues, and prioritize defects based on impact.
• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail or similar) and familiarity with version control systems.
• Knowledge of regression, integration, and functional testing; exposure to API, performance, or security testing is a plus.
