Job Title: Senior Director/VP of Technical Product Management - D2C Personalization & Data Platform

Location: Fully Remote / EST / Tri-State

Engagement: 3-month contract to start

Compensation: 100-125/hr.

Position Overview

We are seeking a deeply technical, data-driven [Senior Director / VP] of Technical Product Management to spearhead the evolution of our Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) customer experience. In this role, you will own the architectural vision and product execution for our e-commerce personalization engine and customer data ecosystem.

Our client launched in 2010 as a healthcare e-commerce business. They focus on helping people manage and use their FSA and HSA benefits for maximum savings. And have grown the business to offer more than just healthcare products but have expanded into services.

You will lead the strategy to connect disparate data streams into a unified Customer Data Platform (CDP), leveraging tools like Segment, and activating that data to drive real-time, dynamic customer journeys via Bloomreach (or similar enterprise CRMs/personalization suites). Operating within a complex, multi-SKU e-commerce environment built on Salesforce Commerce Cloud, you will champion modern SDLC practices to deliver a frictionless, highly tailored shopping experience that scales.

Core Responsibilities

  • Data Platform & CDP Architecture: Lead the product roadmap for our customer data infrastructure. Own the implementation and optimization of our CDP (Segment), ensuring clean data collection, robust identity resolution, and seamless data syndication across the entire growth stack.
  • D2C Personalization Strategy: Drive the technical execution of end-to-end personalization workflows using Bloomreach (or equivalent tools). Architect how real-time behavioral data, purchase history, and CRM segments trigger dynamic content, product recommendations, and targeted offers.
  • Multi-SKU Catalog Optimization: Oversee the technical logic required to manage, surface, and personalize complex, multi-SKU product catalogs, ensuring backend inventory, bundling logic, and variant data map accurately to tailored frontend customer experiences.
  • Analytics & Measurement Framework: Partner with data science and marketing to embed Google Analytics (GA4) deep into the product cycle. Establish clear tracking frameworks to measure the direct impact of technical product features on core D2C metrics (CRO, AOV, LTV, and retention).
  • SDLC Governance & Delivery: Maintain rigorous SDLC standards across technical product and engineering squads. Ensure clear API documentation, robust data governance/privacy compliance, and rapid, high-quality feature deployment.

Key Requirements

  • E-Commerce Technical Leadership: 8+ years leading Technical Product Management teams, specifically focused on high-growth D2C e-commerce environments.
  • CDP & Data Stack Expertise: Hands-on experience architecting data pipelines and managing enterprise Customer Data Platforms (ideally Segment). Deep understanding of data ingestion, event tracking schemas, and webhook/API integrations.
  • Personalization & CRM Fluency: Proven track record working with enterprise personalization engines, search/merchandising tools, or CRMs (experience with Bloomreach is highly preferred; experience with Braze, Iterable, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud is acceptable).
  • Platform & Catalog Familiarity: Solid understanding of the Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) ecosystem and how it handles complex, multi-SKU product environments, inventory data, and checkout logic.
  • Measurement Obsession: Advanced familiarity with Google Analytics and data analytics tools to run A/B testing frameworks and validate personalization models.

This position will start as a 3-month contract that is full-time and fully remote. The contract will most likely be extended as the project matures and deliverables are met. The company is a remote first business with members of the team throughout the US with a concentration of talent based in the NY, NJ and CT area. Candidates must work east-coast hours and if they are able to meet in the NY/NJ area for meetings on occasion, this is a plus.
