Job Description
About the role
We help SMEs navigate the AI and data transformation era โ guiding and delivering for them as an end-to-end partner, from training through to platform build. We're an AI-enabled business: AI is woven into how our team works every day, not just what we sell. As we scale, we're looking for a Technical Project Manager to own the delivery of our client and internal projects: keeping work on scope, on time and on budget, and keeping a distributed team and our clients aligned every step of the way.
You'll sit at the intersection of clients, engineers, data scientists and leadership, working closely with our Australian team and clients. You don't need to write the code, but you do need to understand it well enough to plan realistically, ask the right questions, spot risk early and translate fluently between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
What you'll do
- Own end-to-end delivery of AI, data and software projects โ planning, scoping, scheduling, and reporting.
- Run scrum end to end: facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, reviews and retrospectives across teams in multiple time zones, and keep the team's velocity and flow healthy.
- Write and maintain clear, descriptive Jira tasks โ well-defined tickets with proper context, acceptance criteria, estimates and dependencies, so engineers can pick up work without ambiguity. Keep the board accurate and up to date at all times.
- Be the primary point of contact for clients โ managing expectations, surfacing progress and risk clearly, and keeping relationships strong.
- Break ambiguous client needs into clear, sequenced workstreams and acceptance criteria with the engineering and data teams.
- Track scope, timelines, dependencies and budgets, and proactively manage change and risk before it becomes a problem.
- Coordinate resourcing across our Australia, Sri Lanka and Singapore teams to keep delivery flowing.
- Keep documentation, status reporting and project tooling accurate and up to date for both clients and leadership.
- Remove blockers for the team and escalate the right things to the right people at the right time.

What you'll bring
- Minimum 4 years' experience managing technical or software/data projects, ideally in a consulting, agency or delivery environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills โ this is essential. You can run a client steering meeting, write a crisp status update, defuse a tense conversation and translate between technical and business audiences with equal ease.
- Strong hands-on experience running agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban) and high proficiency with Jira โ including structuring boards, sprints and backlogs, and writing detailed, well-scoped tickets.
- Enough technical literacy to engage credibly with engineers and data scientists โ you understand software delivery, cloud, APIs and data/AI concepts even if you're not building them yourself.
- A track record of delivering projects on scope, on time and on budget, with the judgement to manage trade-offs when they conflict.
- Comfort working remotely with distributed teams across time zones and cultures, with a reliable home/remote setup and dependable internet.
- Strong organisation, prioritisation and stakeholder-management skills.

Nice to have
- Fluency with AI tools is a huge plus. We're an AI-enabled business and expect our team to work that way โ using AI to draft tickets, summarise meetings, accelerate research and streamline delivery. Candidates who already weave AI into their daily workflow will stand out.
- Experience delivering AI/ML, data platform or Databricks-related projects.
- Familiarity with modern web stacks (e.g. Next.js, cloud/DevOps environments).
- Experience working with SME clients or in a fast-growing business.
- Experience in the medical or healthcare domain.
- Relevant certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Certified ScrumMaster or similar).
Why join us
- Work at the front edge of the AI and data transformation wave with a team building the AI one-stop shop for SMEs.
- Real ownership and visibility โ you'll run delivery across the business, not a narrow slice of it.
- A growing, ambitious company with an international footprint.
