Head of Engineering - AI & Supply Chain Platform

The Head of Engineering will serve as the foundational technical leader responsible for building and scaling the company’s AI and software capabilities. This is a hands-on leadership role combining architecture, development, and team mentorship in a fast-moving startup environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead development of the AI-driven supply chain platform, including data ingestion, pricing optimization, and trade execution systems
• Architect scalable systems for data scraping, aggregation, and decision-making across global suppliers
• Work closely with founders to translate business operations into technical solutions
• Oversee and mentor a junior engineering team (early-career developers)
• Establish engineering best practices, workflows, and technical roadmap
• Act as a founding technical leader, contributing directly to code and product development
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and partnerships to improve end-to-end supply chain execution
• Identify system inefficiencies and build solutions to optimize trade lifecycle performance

Technical Requirements:

• Strong experience in software engineering and system architecture
• Background in AI/ML applications, ideally in optimization, data pipelines, or decision systems
• Experience working with large-scale data ingestion and processing systems
• Ability to build and scale end-to-end platforms (backend-heavy systems)
• Familiarity with supply chain, logistics, marketplaces, or pricing systems (preferred, not required)

Experience:

• 5+ years of professional engineering experience (flexible based on capability)
• Prior experience in a startup or high-growth environment strongly preferred
• Experience in technical leadership or mentorship roles

• Experience working closely with non-technical stakeholders (operations, business teams)

Logistics:

• Preferred: Onsite in San Francisco (5 days/week)
• Open to candidates willing to relocate (relocation support available)
