Key Responsibilities

GCP Cloud Engineer (GKE Specialist)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced GCP Cloud Engineer to join a growing cloud engineering team supporting enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), and be comfortable working in a fully remote, international environment.

This is an initial 6โ€“9 month contract engagement with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent position based on performance and business requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Deploy, manage, and optimize Kubernetes workloads using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or similar tools.
  • Automate cloud operations, deployments, and monitoring processes.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Platform Engineering, Security, and Development teams.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, security, and performance of cloud environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, and Kubernetes-related issues.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5โ€“7 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, or similar role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Proven expertise with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, administration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and automation practices.
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking, security, IAM, and monitoring solutions.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Familiarity with Linux systems administration and scripting.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.


Language Requirements

  • Fluent English (written and spoken) โ€“ mandatory.
  • German language skills at minimum B2 level โ€“ mandatory.


Nice to Have

  • GCP certifications (Professional Cloud Engineer or similar).
