We do this through three core pillars:

  • Preserving Coexistence — supporting Indigenous-led enterprises
  • Promoting Coexistence — storytelling and public art, including The Great Elephant Migration
  • Powering Coexistence — strategic grantmaking to conservation partners

We are entering a pivotal phase of growth, with a unique opportunity to define how our work is seen, understood, and experienced globally.

Anchored in The Great Elephant Migration, this role will drive audience engagement, strengthen brand presence, and ensure consistency across all communications channels.

The role spans content strategy, social media, PR coordination, website oversight, and donor communications, connecting storytelling to measurable engagement and organizational outcomes.

  • Contribute to campaign narratives aligned with audience and donor engagement goals
  • Coordinate with PR agency on messaging, timelines, and deliverables
  • Help ensure alignment across PR, digital, and donor communications
  • Track basic PR outputs and support reporting on performance
  • Maintain consistency of organizational voice across channels

2. Digital Marketing & Social Media

  • Own social media strategy and execution, including content planning, publishing, and performance tracking
  • Drive audience growth and engagement across platforms
  • Align digital content with key campaign moments and organizational priorities

3. Content Strategy & Production

  • Develop and execute a cohesive content strategy across written, visual, and video formats
  • Maximize use of photography and existing content assets across channels
  • Define and implement video content approaches
  • Manage external creatives (photographers, videographers, designers) as needed
  • Build and maintain a centralized content library

4. Conservation Storytelling & Partner Engagement

  • Collaborate with conservation partners to source stories, updates, and impact narratives
  • Translate partner work into compelling, audience-facing content
  • Ensure consistent visibility of conservation impact across platforms

5. Website & Performance Analytics

  • Oversee website content to ensure it remains current, engaging, and aligned with campaigns
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics across digital channels
  • Use insights to refine communications and marketing strategies continuously

6. Donor Communications

  • Lead newsletter strategy, production, and distribution
  • Develop donor-facing content that aligns with broader organizational messaging
  • Support the donor journey through thoughtful, strategic communications

7. Annual Impact Report

  • Lead end-to-end development of the Annual Impact Report
  • Produce clear, compelling, and strategically aligned content
  • Oversee design and production in collaboration with external partners

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3–6 years of experience in communications, marketing, or content strategy (or equivalent experience)
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Experience managing multi-channel communications and digital platforms
  • Strong understanding of social media strategy and performance
  • Ability to connect content and communications to audience engagement and growth
  • Experience working in nonprofit, conservation, cultural, or mission-driven organizations

Preferred:

  • Experience managing PR agencies or external vendors
  • Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social insights)
  • Experience with email marketing platforms and content management systems
  • Visual storytelling sensibility (photography/video direction and selection)

Work Environment

  • Fully remote
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Occasional travel (10–15%) for exhibitions, team convenings, or partner visits

Compensation

  • Salary range: $70,000 – $75,000, commensurate with experience
  • Coexistence Story offers a benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as access to additional voluntary benefits, including a 401(k) plan

Location Requirement
