Job Description

Cloud Engineer (f/m/d)

Do you want to build and operate the cloud infrastructure that thousands of users rely on every day?

We're looking for a Cloud Engineer to take ownership of our AWS environment, evolve our Kubernetes-based platform and help our growing engineering organization ship reliably and securely. You'll work hands-on with AWS EKS, Aurora and the surrounding cloud-native ecosystem – and you'll join us at a pivotal moment, as we scale our platform for the next stage of TimeTac's growth.

📍 Remote or Graz/Austria

🕒 Full-time 38,5h/week

TimeTac is a continually growing and innovative software company with a focus on developing and providing web-based and mobile time tracking solutions. We maintain a modern, open corporate culture with a strong vision and a great working atmosphere in which creative thinking is encouraged.

Your future role

  • Design, build and operate our AWS cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on AWS EKS, AWS Aurora and the surrounding cloud-native services.
  • Evolve and maintain our Kubernetes-based platform, working closely with development teams to ensure reliable, secure and efficient deployments.
  • Implement and extend our infrastructure as code setup, automating provisioning, configuration and operations across all environments.
  • Optimize and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline development workflows and shorten lead times for our engineering teams.
  • Strengthen observability, monitoring and incident response – you make sure problems are detected before customers notice them, and resolved quickly when they don't.
  • Drive cost, performance and security optimizations across our cloud footprint.
  • Collaborate within our DevOps team on troubleshooting, continuous improvement and knowledge sharing around our infrastructure.

What you bring

  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer or in a similar role.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Development or comparable practical experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS or GCP (Google Cloud Platform) – ideally including EKS, Aurora, VPC networking and IAM.
  • Solid Kubernetes know-how: operating clusters in production, not just running workloads on them.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CDK, Pulumi or similar) and a clear preference for automation over manual operations.
  • Comfortable with Linux systems and shell scripting.
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
  • A strong focus on reliability, security and operational quality, with the ability to write clear documentation and post-incident protocols.
  • A proactive, ownership-driven mindset and joy in collaborating with developers and other infrastructure-minded colleagues.
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus, not a requirement.

Certifications we value

Certifications are a strong signal of structured knowledge and a continuous investment in your craft. If you already hold one or more of the following, even better.

  • AWS: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner; AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate / Professional); AWS Certified Developer; AWS Certified Security – Specialty
  • Kubernetes / CNCF: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA); Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD); Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS)
  • Google Cloud: Associate Cloud Engineer; Professional Cloud Architect; Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer; Professional Cloud Security Engineer

  • Daily fresh organic fruit, coffee & tea.
  • 2 x per month free business brunch in the office with free finger food and organic juices.
  • Personal and professional development opportunities.
  • Multicultural team with a great team spirit.
  • Fully support the relocation process & work permit in case you need it.
  • Latest hardware is selectable between PC and Mac.
  • € 300.– health budget per person and year for your physical fitness, e.g., Chair Shiatsu, fitness courses in the office, special equipment to promote employee health.
  • Initiatives for mental health (online and F2F counseling).
  • Team events and celebrations of achieved milestones.
  • Full support when starting your new position with an individual onboarding plan, incl. a personal buddy.
