What is it like to be an Embedded Software Engineer at DHV Technology?
As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will be part of our multidisciplinary engineering team, playing a key role in the design, development, integration, and validation of onboard embedded software for electronic systems used in high-reliability space applications. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge space technology and contribute directly to commercial and institutional satellite missions.
You will be involved in all phases of the product lifecycle, from architecture and requirements definition to implementation, testing, and final system validation, ensuring robust, efficient, and high-performance firmware solutions that meet the stringent standards of the space sector.
Responsibilities
- Embedded firmware development for microcontroller-based platforms and purpose-specific processors.
- Development of real-time applications on RTOS.
- Integration and validation of communication interfaces and protocols.
- Participation in hardware-software integration activities.
- Debugging and troubleshooting using JTAG tools and laboratory equipment.
- Development of automation, testing, and validation tools using Python.
- Preparation of technical documentation in accordance with engineering standards.
- Participation in design, code, and architecture reviews.

Education and Requirements
- Degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in embedded firmware development.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
Technical Competencies
- Strong command of C programming for embedded systems.
- Demonstrable experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Knowledge of communication protocols (CAN, SPI, UART, I2C):
- Experience in debugging with JTAG.
- Programming in Python for automation and testing.
- Experience using Git and software integration environments.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in the space, aerospace, defense, or critical systems sectors.
- Knowledge of ECSS standards.
- Experience with FreeRTOS or similar.
- Development of bootloaders and secure update mechanisms.
- Experience in functional validation, environmental testing, and integration campaigns.
- Knowledge of FPGA and SoC systems.
